Prepare For Your
Thai Massage Session
ON THE DAY OF YOUR MASSAGE
Eat lite & avoid stimulants
While you can receive a Thai massage after a meal it is best received on an empty stomach however you shouldn't be hungry. Eating a healthy small snack of fruit one hour prior to treatment is okay. You should avoid alcohol & coffee the day of massage.
Home stretch routine
A home stretching routine before and after your massage treatment can help reduce soreness sometimes associated with exercise and massage.
What to bring with you
Tell your therapist any goals you may have if seeking rehabilitation. You may bring x-rays and diagnostics from other health care providers.
ONCE YOU ARRIVE TO THE STUDIO
Remove your shoes and silence phone at the door
Please leave your shoes outside the door and silence your cell phone before entering the studio. Calm yourself with a few deep breaths and leave your everyday concerns at the door.
Foot washing & interview
Every massage begins with a foot scrub and interview where your therapist will ask questions to collect clues as to how to best help you. Be sure to let your therapist know of any new injuries.
DURING YOUR MASSAGE TREATMENT
Comfort
We can adjust many elements about the room. Please tell your therapist if you feel too hot or cold during your treatment or if you'd like us to lower or increase the volume of music.
Nudity Not Necessary
Nudity is not necessary but often we may add medicated oil which helps aid different techniques. In which case disrobing will be necessary. Bring some loose breathable clothing that allows for movement and remove jewelry and socks. Remove anything with elastic. Ladies should avoid wire bras opting for a loose spaghetti strap top.
Is Thai Massage painful?
Thai massage can be intense at times bringing together pain and pleasure simultaneously. Pressure will gradually be increased through out the session. If the pressure is ever too strong please tell your therapist.
Do they stand on you during a thai massage?
One of the notable characteristics of Thai massage is the therapists use of feet, shins and knees and they may even walk on you to apply deep precise linear pressure.
AFTER YOUR MASSAGE TREATMENT
Take your time as you get up
Your therapist will exit the room after your treatment to allow time for you to redress. Please get up slowly as your body will need time to adjust to the new potential for relaxed movement.
